After 14 Years, African-American Former Hospital Administrator Is Able to Prove He Was Unjustly Terminated

Fred Brewington of The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington recently obtained a Plaintiff’s verdict in a federal lawsuit involving retaliation. The lawsuit was 14 years old when an African-American man who was an assistant administrator at defendant Nassau Health Care Corporation filed a complaint of discrimination and then, after that, was terminated.

On December 5, 2017, the jury found that his termination was in retaliation for his filing of the complaint. The matter was adjourned without determining the damages due to Mr. Brewington’s client because the defendants raised the issue of an inconsistent verdict since the individuals who were named under a different cause of action were found not liable.
