$7.75 million- Civil Rights and wrongful death action brought by the family of deceased

$4.7 million- Repeated verbal and physical assaults on Yemeni-American employee, while supervisor failed to protect employee and discipline the assailant

$1.277 million- Race based attack and serious injury by violent acts against Plaintiffs, who were lured to an isolated warehouse

$2.8 million- Wrongful death, products liability case involving a tow motor accident at a sewage treatment plant

The office is saddened to report that Mr. Ira Fogelgaren passed away on December 22, 2017. He will be greatly missed and his death has impacted us all. We continue to extend our love and support to his wonderful family — Jacki, his loving wife, and his two sons, Sam and Danny, as they work through this ongoing period of mourning.

Ira Fogelgaren was admitted to the Bar of New York, as well as the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

73-Year-Old Veteran Who Was Falsely Arrested and Brutalized on His Own Property by Nassau County Police, Files Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit

On February 7, 2018, Baldwin resident and Air Force Veteran Robert Besedin, announced the filing of his federal civil rights suit against the County of Nassau, the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) and NCPD Officers Stephen Beckwith and John Mantovani. He was joined by Frederick K. Brewington at Mr. Brewington’s office.

Fred Brewington wrote an article for the Amistad Long Island Black Bar Association’s weekly e-newsletter. “Truth Telling Is Important to Our Seeking Justice” shows how President Trump’s lies, misstatements and distortions of the truth are destroying the fabric of justice in this country. He also wrote that, when the media challenges his wild claims, the president resorts to threats and bullying, thereby endangering the country’s democracy.

Former Town of Islip Official Granted New Trial on Acts of Retaliation after Making Complaints of Discrimination

The United States District Court ruled that a Town of Islip employee who was unjustly terminated will be granted a new trial on her retaliation claims after the jury was erroneously instructed on how the adverse employment actions should be viewed when it comes to discrimination and retaliation.

Islip Town Branch NAACP Honors Fred Brewington at the Fourth Annual Legacy Gala

Fred Brewington received the Long Island Legacy Award from the Islip Town Branch NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) at the Fourth Annual Long Island Legacy Gala. The event was held on January 13 at the Brentwood Country Club. Mr. Brewington was recognized for his professional pursuits and the contributions that he has made toward bettering the lives of all people, especially people of color on Long Island.

After 14 Years, African-American Former Hospital Administrator Is Able to Prove He Was Unjustly Terminated

Fred Brewington of The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington recently obtained a Plaintiff’s verdict in a federal lawsuit involving retaliation. The lawsuit was 14 years old when an African-American man who was an assistant administrator at defendant Nassau Health Care Corporation filed a complaint of discrimination and then, after that, was terminated.

Dead Inmate’s Family Files $60 Million Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Fred Brewington of The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington has filed a $60 million federal lawsuit on behalf of the family of a man who was incarcerated and later died while in custody at a Nassau County jail. The lawsuit claims that jail personnel violated the civil rights of Michael Cullum when they failed to provide adequate medical care and cites negligence and medical malpractice.
