The State of New York’s Education Department recently ruled in favor of defendants Ms. Maribel Toure´ and Ms. Gwendolyn Jackson after denying the Hempstead Union Free School Districts Board of Education’s petition to stay, which would have prohibited the swearing in of Ms. Toure´ and Ms. Jackson as school board members.
