Cory Morris has Joined the Firm's Legal Staff

Cory MorrisThe Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington is excited to announce that Cory Morris has joined the Legal Staff and will be the Office’s next Associate following his pending admission. Mr. Morris demonstrated an outstanding commitment to public interest and social justice during his tenure in law school. He completed an externship program in the Office during his last semester in law school, graduated cum laude shortly thereafter, passed the New York State Bar Examination and became an associate as he is pending admission in New York State and Washington, D.C.

In the appeal against Jonai Washington, the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office attempted to reverse the decision of Judge Peck of the Nassau County Supreme Court that was rendered in 2011, which suppressed the alcohol breath test results of Ms. Washington obtained after a motor vehicle accident.

U.S. District Judge Joanna Seybert declared a mistrial in the civil case of Perrim Anderson, in which he was to be awarded $65,000 after being brutally beaten by Suffolk County correction officers for requesting to wear socks.

Nassau County Attorney Sanctioned for Ignoring Court Order

On March 26, 2013, Eastern District Magistrate Judge E. Thomas Boyle imposed a $500-a-day sanction from October 18, 2012 to April 1, 2013 against Nassau County attorney Andrew R. Scott for failing to adhere to discovery demands after a twenty-nine-month period in civil rights action Smith v. County of Nassau.
