RECENT VERDICTS AND SETTLEMENTS
$7.75 million- Civil Rights and wrongful death action brought by the family of deceased

$4.7 million- Repeated verbal and physical assaults on Yemeni-American employee, while supervisor failed to protect employee and discipline the assailant

$1.277 million- Race based attack and serious injury by violent acts against Plaintiffs, who were lured to an isolated warehouse

$2.8 million- Wrongful death, products liability case involving a tow motor accident at a sewage treatment plant



Carl Saunders Joins The Firm as Office Controller

The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington welcomes Carl Saunders as its new Office Controller. Mr. Saunders has very extensive experience overseeing the billing and collections process and in accounts receivable procedures.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Saunders was the Billing Manager for Davis & Gilbert, LLP, where he was responsible for effectively overseeing the firm's revenue cycle. This included reporting to the firm's Chief Financial Officer, following up with clientele on outstanding invoices, managing and assigning client workloads to the billing coordinators and ensuring that the assigned unbilled inventory is billed according to client guidelines in a timely and accurate manner.

His first job after graduation was Assistant Billing and Collections Manager at Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP from 1989 to 2009. During that time, he reported to the billing and collections manager and trained, coached and supervised a billing and collections team of 20. He also made recommendations and improvements to billing and collection policies and procedures; reviewed and analyzed revenue, billing, collections and pending management reports; and increased billings by meeting monthly with responsible billing partners, providing reports on unbilled inventory and open accounts receivable for each client. He also acted as a Liaison to the firm's other offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, Paris, Moscow, Frankfurt and Washington, D.C., where he consulted them on their billing and collections procedures and policies.

From 2010 to 2014, he was Billing Supervisor for Ropes & Gray, LLP. In his position, he set rates, assigned staff members client workloads, communicated billing procedures, policies and practices to the legal and billing teams, responded to client billing inquiries, resolved billing and collection issues, tracked each staff members' performance and monitored the team members' unbilled balances.

Mr. Saunders graduated with honors from Baruch College/University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. He comes to The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington with large firm experience that will further serve and benefit the office and the clients it serves.
