Parents of Two African-American Youths File Notice of Claim against the Nassau County Police Department for Their False Arrest, Malicious Prosecution, Assault and Civil Rights Law Abuses, Racial Discrimination, Verbal and Physical Abuse and Must Fight False Criminal Charges
Fred Brewington held a press conference at his office on January 27 to announce he has filed a notice of claim against the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) on behalf of David and Mondy Tillery, residents of Roosevelt and parents of 15-year-old Ahmand Tillery and 14-year-old Jahmeir Tillery. They were joined by local residents and community groups to announce the filing.

Muslim Correction Officer with Medical Condition Seeks $2 Million in Damages for Religious and Disability Discrimination
After the New York State Division of Human Rights (NYSDHR) determined that there was probable cause that she was discriminated against based on her religion and her medical condition, Maureen M. Billings, a Muslim correction officer with the New York State Department of Corrections at Bedford Correctional Facility, has filed a Federal Civil Rights complaint in which she is seeking damages in excess of $2 million.
