After 14 Years, African-American Former Hospital Administrator Is Able to Prove He Was Unjustly Terminated

Fred Brewington of The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington recently obtained a Plaintiff’s verdict in a federal lawsuit involving retaliation. The lawsuit was 14 years old when an African-American man who was an assistant administrator at defendant Nassau Health Care Corporation filed a complaint of discrimination and then, after that, was terminated.

Dead Inmate’s Family Files $60 Million Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Fred Brewington of The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington has filed a $60 million federal lawsuit on behalf of the family of a man who was incarcerated and later died while in custody at a Nassau County jail. The lawsuit claims that jail personnel violated the civil rights of Michael Cullum when they failed to provide adequate medical care and cites negligence and medical malpractice.

Fred Brewington will be honored at the Fourth Annual NAACP Long Island Legacy Gala on Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Brentwood Country Club, located at 100 Pennsylvania Avenue in Brentwood, New York. Mr. Brewington is being recognized for his professional pursuits and the contributions that he has made toward bettering the lives of all people, especially people of color on Long Island.

Fred Brewington Will Speak at Upcoming Seminar

Fred Brewington will discuss “From The Newsroom to the Courtroom: Litigating Emotionally Charged Police Cases” at the 31st annual DRI Civil Rights and Governmental Tort Liability Seminar, which will take place on January 25-26, 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Mr. Brewington will explain to the attorneys in attendance how to handle emotionally charged issues such as diversity and race in litigating police cases from both the plaintiff’s perspective and the defense perspective, and offer tips on handling racially charged lawsuits, from investigation to motion practice. During his presentation, Mr. Brewington will explain how he handled certain police misconduct cases with the local media.
