July 18, 2006

Tomorrow, July 19, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., in the Nassau County Supreme Court Pressroom, Mr. Willie Warren, a 20 year veteran of the Nassau County Department of Public Works will hold a press conference to announce his filing of a multi-million dollar law suit against Nassau County and others for the continued acts of discrimination, retaliation and misrepresentations to which he has been subject after being induced to sign a settlement agreement in 2003. He will be joined by his attorney, Frederick K. Brewington. Copies of the complaint will be made available, and the tape which referred to him using the “N” word will be played. In addition, Mr. Warren’s suit details the lack of promotions afforded and made available to African-American workers and the history of discriminatory actions against them.

In the Federal Complaint, which is over forty (40) pages long, Mr. Warren details the language used in referring to him and clearly sets out how he has been treated since he lodge complaints and made the tape of Linda Alberti making racially charged comments about him and African-Americans as a whole.
