MENTALLY DISABLED BOY AND FAMILY FILE MULTI- MILLION DOLLAR CIVIL RIGHTS SUIT AGAINST SCHOOL AND SCHOOL DISTRICT

BILLY SCHAFER, JR. and his parents WILLIAM and JANET SCHAFER will announce the filing of their sixty-eight (68) page, nineteen count, $190,000,000.00 Federal Civil Rights lawsuit. Plaintiffs will hold a press conference today, May 25, 2006 at 1:15 p.m. in the Nassau Supreme Court Pressroom, 100 Supreme Court Drive, Mineola, New York.

On May 23, 2006, the one year anniversary of the discovery of Billy being falsely imprisoned in the Blue ‘Time Out Room’ at the Rosemary Kennedy School of BOCES this action was filed suing the Hicksville School District, BOCES, The Rosemary Kennedy School and a number of administrators and personnel.

Federal and New York State law provide that all persons have a right to be free from the abuse suffered by Billy and not to be discriminated against or retaliated against because of his/her disability.

Along with their Attorney, Frederick K. Brewington, Esq., Billy and his parents will hold a press conference announcing the details and filing of this law suit, today Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 1:15 a.m.- Nassau County Supreme Court Pressroom.
