On November 21, 2012 Ms. Robin Pellegrini, the former Director of OHIA (Office of Housing and Intergovernmental Affairs) for the County of Nassau entered into a written agreement to settle her lawsuit against the County of Nassau which named several individuals as Defendants, including former County Executive Thomas Suozzi. She too included former County Executive Thomas Suozzi as a Defendants. Both of these women have yet to be paid and have yet to have their cases presented to and voted on by the Legislature of Nassau County. The Legislature and the County of Nassau have decided to play politics with these women, their settlements and their lives. They were abused in their employment, abused in their terminations and now are being abused by the political games being played by the members of the Nassau County Legislature. These games are being played to gain political advantage, in total disregard for the long term impact of their actions on Ms. Pellegrini, Ms. Frierson and the people of the County of Nassau. These women will come before the Press and community to let the political parties know that they will not stand by and be used as pawns in their political schemes. They will hold a joint press conference tomorrow Wednesday, May 29, 2013--10:00 a.m. at The Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington (556 Peninsula Blvd., Hempstead, NY 11550) to address these actions by the County and the County Legislature. Detailed copies of the facts alleged in their respective cases will be released to the Press.
